Performing at TEDx is an intense experience. Not only because it's TEDx, but also because you usually have to deal with other things happening in your life while preparing for Your Big Moment. For me, it was the first time I experienced stage fright, after having been a public speaker for over 10 years, on stages big and small. In the 9 months prior to the event, I had a steep learning curve. Also, the fact that my foster dad, whim I speak about on stage, died just 2 months before the event, and was buried at the cemetery right next to the TEDxDelft venue. It was terrifying, but it worked out, mainly because of EXTREMELY USEFUL strategies I had learned for this occasion. I share these strategies with you in this book. (If you want to watch my talk with sound, check it out on YouTube.)
In LIVE YOUR TALKS, I share strategies for creating the talk, dealing with the pressure and to connect with the audience. Ten interviews with seasoned TEDx speakers, TEDx curators and TEDx license holders are also included in this book.
